The NETwork DOcumentation Tool Netdot is an open source tool designed to help network administrators collect, organize and maintain network documentation.Netdot is actively developed by the Network Services group at the University of Oregon, and it is an essential tool in their every day operation. Here are some key features of "NetDoT": · Device discovery via SNMP Layer2 topology discovery and graphs, using: · CDP/LLDP · Spanning Tree Protocol · Switch forwarding tables · Router point-to-point subnets · IPv4 and IPv6 address space management (IPAM) · Address space visualization · DNS/DHCP config management (in 0.9) · IP and MAC address tracking · Cable plant (sites, fiber, copper, closets, circuits...) · Contacts (departments, providers, vendors, etc.) · Export scripts for various tools (Nagios, Sysmon, RANCID, Cacti, etc) · Multi-level user access: Admin, Operator, User (in 0.9) Limitations: · This is a work in progress and is still considered incomplete, as some of the key features are yet to be implemented. What's New in This Release: · Removed custom snmp-info libraries. Users can now install SNMP::Info from CPAN · Added user manual with installation and basic operation information · Order Nagios hosts alphabetically by name · Fixed bugs in ARP fetching from Cisco firewalls · Updated oui.txt file · Fixed bug in OUI db import · Fix for ticket #572 (Duplicate entry 'unknown') · Fix for #568: Error while trying to view ipblock as tree
