BCSIcom Description

Connects your Icom radios to your computer BCSIcom is a simple program to exercise a CI-V Interface with Icom radios. Before running the program, be sure to plug in any USB/serial adapter that you will be using. After starting BCSIcom, select the correct serial port from the popup menu, along with the baud rate. You can usually leave your ID set to the default value of 234. Note that the program expects decimal values for radio IDs, not hex. Set the ID for the radio, usually you can find this in the radio documentation. The bytes value should be 4 or 5, depending on how many bytes that radio type uses for frequency commands. Try one or the other if you don’t know which to use. Every three seconds, the program will update the current frequency and mode. You can change the frequency by typing it into the text box and clicking on the Set button. Likewise you can use the popup menus for setting the mode and bandwidth. Note that not all modes and bandwidths work with all radios. If you click the Find All Radios button, the program will search all radio IDs, looking for any connected radios. This can be handy if you don’t know the ID for a radio. Note that the baud rate still needs to be correct, so you may need to run it several times at various baud rates if you don’t know what baud rate the radio is set for.
