Classic screensavers remade with Cocoa/Quartz/OpenGL. OK, let's face it. The days are long since gone when anybody really needed screen savers to save their computer screen from the dreaded "burn in" or "ghost image".Macintosh systems shut the monitor off to save energy and improve screen life, and use other techniques to prevent "burn in" on CRT systems. But screen savers are loads of fun, and if one pops up on your screen in an idle moment, or when the phone rings and you take your hands off the keyboard, they can be a pleasant distraction.It includes original screen savers and the developer's version of some classic savers, and even a couple that are down right "retro". Each screen saver has some sort of tunable options, because they are fun. iX Screen Savers are written in Objective C, using Cocoa and Quartz. Some of the screensavers, including BabelBloX and Xirtam use OpenGL.
