This is why an iOS app is ideal for this community. With Homeschool Tool, now parents can record student attendance and learning progress while supervising the student.The HomeSchool Tool app allows parents to easily create a schedule for each student's course work (day / week views), and can even use one student's schedule as a template for additional students. Our app makes it easy to find out how many subject hours a student has completed at any given time so that you can keep track of core and non-core subject hours, counting down to the state requirement total for a given school year. If your student is sick for a week, mark them absent and the end date will be recalculated. If you go on a history field trip, other classes will be automatically blocked off, and extra hours will be logged for the subject of history. You can also easily convert learning experiences into documented class hours. For example, lets say you end up taking your kids to see the play Hamlet, and afterwards you spend an hour discussing its theme and comparing it with other books or plays. Even though this took place on a weekend, it's still a learning experience that you can document. In this case, you might want to record approx. 3 hours of literature for that Saturday event.With HomeSchool Tool, scores can be added for various tests and assignments and automatically calculated into a running grade total. Parents can set the weight of the grading scale and have the app calculate the grade accordingly.
