SecureMessaging Description

SecureMessaging was designed to be a light weight, simple to use, add on to your current text messaging application (DROID only. iPhone currently in development). This application is here to prevent friends family, or other random people you don’t want reading certain messages. It sends an encrypted message to the other phone which is then decrypted for viewing--At no point is the decrypted message stored. This application also has the ability to send encrypted images. That way if you want to send a picture that you really don’t want the whole world to see, this should help prevent that. *** Currently Motorola X has some weird issues with checking if images are not corrupted before sending. Viewing works just fine. (Of course the encrypted image appears corrupted. That is by design! It is ENCRYPTED!?!?) So, you will have to install a free third-party messaging service if you want to send an image with the Motorola X. (Hate to do this, but here is a nice messaging service I use and it works great: ) Currently, this is the first version of the application and we greatly appreciate you trying it out. Please let us know what you think, what we should add, or what bugs you find. If you really like it, also let us know. We are hoping to continue working on this if folks find it useful. POEM Software Solutions is a very small company started by a couple of friends /coworkers. (Well actually, two guys, one office. ) Permission Reasons: 1.SEND_SMS: Needed to send an install notice to person receiving the message. 2.READ_CONTACTS: Uses contacts to help send a message to. (So you don’t have to memorize phone numbers.) 3.READ_SMS: Ability to read the text message database since this is an add on to the current messaging system. 4.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Encrypting and decrypting the image with message if attached. 5.GET_TASKS: For closing the application when put to background task. If not you would not get prompted to log in every time. Directions on use of SecureMessaging: Send a Secure Message: 1.Click Create Secure Message button. 2.Add contact number. 3.Add message; optionally add image. 4.Click send. This will take you to your current texting application. Send message from there. 5.Done. To View Secure Message: 1.Click on link in the message. 2.Pick Secure Messaging. 3.View the Message. If an image is attached, click the message to select it then use the view image button. Other Information about the application: Hidden Contacts Button: This is for contacts you want visible only to this application. No other application. These contacts are stored encrypted on the phone. View Messages Button: Similar to the conversation section of most text messaging applications. This give you the ability to navigate to any other message on your phone including showing SecureMessaging encrypted messages in a decrypted state. Delete All Secure Messages Button: Deletes all and only the SecureMessages from your phone. Nice quick way to clean the secure messages out.
