Ancestron App is a user-friendly and intuitive piece of software whose main purpose is to provide you with the ability of finding out more about your family name by looking up various mentions of it on the Internet. The program is fairly simple to work with, on condition that you have Java installed on your system and an Internet connection, otherwise Ancestron App is incapable of returning any results. After downloading and unzipping the archive, you can run the BAT file, in order to begin working with the tool. Within moments, a large window will open, enabling you to begin your search. This Java-based utility allows you to input the surname you wish to investigate into a search field, then press the assigned button to begin looking for any mention of the name on the web, particularly on genealogy-related websites and forums, but also regular pages, like Wikipedia. The returned results are listed in Ancestron App's interface, displaying a few lines from the contents of the page and emphasizing the keyword from your search, in other to help you figure out if the entries are worth further exploring or not. By clicking on any of the featured links, the corresponding page will open in your default web browser, enabling you to investigate the results and see if they can be traced back to you or if it is simply a name coincidence. The toolbar of Ancestron App allows you to move forward and backward just with one click of a button, while the 'Home' option enables you to return to the start screen and perform a new search.
