The LineUp plugin can be used as is, but if you wish to use the swatches feature, it might require some initial setup to get the best color scheme.The random colors and negative colors plugin require a path or paths to be selected (for photos, you will need to use live trace and expand and then apply the plugins). The color mode must match the color mode of the paths, so RGB filled paths can only be randomized in RGB documents. The color options can be used to the fill or the stroke. The other two plugins, spiral and sharp edge work as is and require no path selected.The grids can be used as is but you might like to use the pathfinder on exiting the plugin. Any color settings would then be lost. Once combined as a single path, the grid can be easily manipulated in various envelope tools or apply warping to the paths or apply perspective etc. If you don't set the paths to a single path, the path's might come apart in certain filters and you will see breaks in the grid.Spirals: The spiral plugin can be used as one long path but the stroke and weight settings cannot be used as well as other settings. You can set the path to be made up of individual paths and then the stroke / weight etc can be accumulative / randomized etcThe plugins can be used to create stunning visual designs as well as offering creative feedback via the preview, giving you a chance to tweak the effect
