BehaviorSearch Description

BehaviorSearch is a small, simple, easy to use application specially designed to help you automate the exploration of agent-based models (ABMs), by using genetic algorithms and other heuristic techniques to search the parameter-space. BehaviorSearch interfaces with the popular NetLogo ABM development platform, to provide a low-threshold way to search for combinations of model parameter settings that will result in a specified target behavior. Main features: Easy to use: Just as NetLogo strives makes the creation of agent-based models accessible to novices, BehaviorSearch aims to facilitate model analysis by making advanced search and optimization techniques accessible to all modelers. Users of NetLogo's built-in BehaviorSpace tool should be able to learn BehaviorSearch quickly. BehaviorSearch's GUI provides an easy way to design and run searches. Flexible: BehaviorSearch is capable of searching a combination of numerical (discrete/continuous), boolean, and categorical parameters. It offers several different search algorithms and search space representations, since different approaches may be more efficient for exploring different models. Powerful: BehaviorSearch was designed with multi-threaded support for parallel searching, providing improved performance for multi-processor/multi-core computers. BehaviorSearch includes a command-line only version for convenient batch/headless runs.
