Besides the video ripping and extraction of the soundtrack, this tool will let you split a large source file into several smaller sizes. You will need to specify the playtime or the actual size. It will also let you clip segments from the DVD movie and output them as a merged video file. Settings needed to get the best results for a given device is available as a profile, and you could simply select the profile without going through setting individual parameters.
