Keeping track of the time and date can be important when you work with tight deadlines. Flip Clock Widget is a small program that can display the time and date to let you know exactly how much longer you have left to perform a certain task. The gadget requires Yahoo! Widget Engine to work; the app is displayed as a small frame that can be moved around the screen. The app shows a smoky digital clock that imitates a split flap display, flipping through the hours, minutes and seconds. The program comes with a few preferences that enable you to change the way it shows the time. Thus, one format includes the month, hour and minutes, while the second one shows the hours, minutes and seconds. The changes can be made from the “Preferences” menu or simply by clicking on the program’s frame. Also, the time can be displayed in a 12 or 24-hour format. The switch can be done just as easy, either from the “Options” menu or by clicking the hours in the interface. This immediately enables you to switch between the two formats. Additionally, the widget’s frame can be set to always be on top of other programs. Also, you can make the frame immune to any mouse events, as well as to accidental dragging. The frame’s opacity can be modified as well. All in all, Flip Clock Widget is an interesting gadget that is extremely light on your computer’s resources.
