JRSSTray Description

JRSSTray was designed to be a free Java Web Start application that monitors RSS feeds and displays new items as messages in the system tray. A simple, refined interface makes it easy to add multiple RSS feeds and view recent items. The application is simple, lightweight and will work on computers with the Java Runtime version 6 installed. JRSSTray will start in the system tray area (next to the clock on most operating systems). To add new RSS feeds to those being monitored right click on the RSS icon in the system tray and click Add RSS Feed. Type or paste in the URL to the RSS feed and click OK, JRSSTray will automatically download and begin displaying items in the feed. After a new RSS feed is added, all items will be displayed. To cancel displaying each item individually, left click the tray icon. A list of recent items will be shown. Click an item to be taken directly to the Internet page containing full details about the item. RSSTray will continue to monitor the RSS feed(s) in the background and display new items as soon as they are published.
