OpenOffice IFilter Description

StarOffice IFilter lets you index and search OpenOffice, StarOffice and OASIS OpenDocument files. It extends Microsoft Indexing Service to extract metadata and content from Writer, Global, Calc, Impress, Draw and Math files. StarOffice IFilter supports Internet Information Server, SharePoint Portal Server, Windows SharePoint Services (WSS), Site Server, Exchange, SQL Server and all other products based on Microsoft Search technology. When installed on Windows desktop operating systems StarOffice IFilter seamlessly integrates with MSN Desktop Search, Indexing Service and Windows File Search. StarOffice suit is a complete, feature-rich office productivity product. It includes a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation software, database and math formula software, graphics program, calendar and e-mail. Comparable to Microsoft Office, the StarOffice suite is interoperable with Microsoft Office file formats such as ".doc", ".ppt", and ".xls". It is multiplatform, available on the Solaris Operating Environment, Linux, and Microsoft Windows platforms, and supports 11 languages.
