SaxLab is a versatile audio plugin bent on providing users with a platform that emulates saxophone sounds accurately. It bundles a variety of soundsets complemented by unique audio effects, mimicking the feel of the real instrument to a high degree. SaxLab stands on a complex architecture, which means handling it is also a sophisticated procedure. The target audience consists of professional musicians and postproduction studios rather than unexperienced users. Having been designed as an audio plugin, the product depends on VST capable hosts, which need to be present on the system at the time of its deployment. The control panel for its functions can be triggered from within these hosts, therefore it cannot function as a standalone platform. The management of its features is done from an elegant and pleasant environment, populated with a generous collection of audio controls. The GUI is divided into several sections, the first of which allows you to control the tune and the scale, followed by a sector where you can experiment with envelope commands and a performance selector. You can further control the sounds by adjusting the air, pitch and body frequency and top the whole thing off with the aid of effects such as chorus and reverb. There’s also a button that allows you to boost or dial down the volume. The overall impression that SaxLab makes is that of a professional audio toolset that can imitate the sounds produced by a real instrument with good accuracy.
