Lightning SlideNavigation is an advanced Thumbnail Slider that can be used in a slide show. It can be either vertical or a horizontal slider. The slider is built such a way that it reacts to mouse moves and clicks. These events can be used to select displayable items or other visual content as miniaturized images. It also supports certain key pressure commands like arrow keys and the space key and it supports horizontal and vertical adjustment in an intelligent automatic way. All the required data for the component is loaded through a user configurable XML file. Developers should be able to define extra tags to set additional effects inside their applications. You should be able to size the thumbnails the way you want. If thumbnails are not available, one could resize the larger images to create the same. There are some customizations options available too that change the appearance and functionality. In the automatic mode for example, the show runs through all the slides in sequence. Appearance of a border around the thumbnail indicates the slide being shown at that time. In the manual mode the user choose the slide to see by mouse click. There are quite a bit of text area that can be used to your advantage. In this mode the muse movement acts like a gesture and the slider moves in one direction or the other depending on this movement. The package opens with Flash 8, CS3 and CS4 and ActionScript 2.0.
