Splish Splash Description
The Splish Splash package provides a pair of executables (splish and splash) that stream the audio from one PC to another. Play music on your laptop and have it come out the speakers of your home theater PC! Splish Splash consists of two executables: - splish.exe captures the audio output from one PC and sends it to another PC on the network. - splash.exe receives audio from a PC running splish.exe and plays it on its own speakers. On the Destination PC: - Turn the volume down low (just in case). - Open a command prompt (e.g. type "cmd" into the search box on the start menu and press enter). - Determine the IP address of the destination PC. One way to do this is to type "ipconfig". Look for the line that says "IPv4 Address". Remember this for later. - Type "cd c:\splishsplash". - Type "splash.exe" - You may be prompted by Windows Firewall whether to allow the connection. You should allow it only for private networks. Now You should see: C:\splishsplash>splash.exe Waiting for connection on port 8265. On the Source PC: - Open a command prompt (e.g. type "cmd" into the search box on the start menu and press enter). - Type "cd c:\splishsplash". - Type "splish.exe 192.168.0.2" except substitute the IP of the destination PC (you found in step #3 above) instead of "192.168.0.2". - You may be prompted by Windows Firewall whether to allow the connection. You should allow it only for private networks. You should see something like: C:\splishsplash>splish.exe 192.168.0.2 Connecting to 192.168.0.2:8265... Successfully connected. Streaming audio...
