VIPS Description

VIPS was developed as a small and open source image processing system. Compared to most image processing libraries, VIPS needs little memory and runs quickly, especially on machines with more than one CPU. It comes in two main parts: libvips, the current package available at download, is the image-processing library and nip2 is the Graphical User Interface. libvips is a fully demand-driven, threaded image processing library with no image size limits and with good support for color.
