WnBrowse Description

WnBrowse is a straightforward application that you can use to view the ASCII, EBCDIC and hexadecimal code of files. It sports a simplistic interface that's easy to work with, even if your experience in such tools is limited. After a brief and uneventful installation procedure that does not require special input from the user, you are greeted by a standard window with a plain window, where you can load files into the workspace using either the file browser or drag-and-drop function. You can make a line selection and copy it to the Clipboard, print the current file content, as well as edit it in text or hexadecimal mode. Furthermore, you can launch the application in question, view file properties, use a search function when dealing with large amounts of data, jump to a particular offset, wrap lines, as well as increase or decrease the font size. As far as options go, you can format the font, customize the toolbar, change the text and background colors, and set the line length. These settings can be saved as default. WnBrowse includes a help file and supports keyboard shortcuts. It is very light on the system resources, using a minimal amount of CPU and system memory. No error dialogs have been shown in our tests and the tool did not hang or crash. Unfortunately, it has not been updated for a very long time.
