Editor's review: It is a gadget that helps you communicate with colleagues. The presence indicator in the directory listing will tell you if a particular person is available. This gadget helps to collaborate and communicate. The directory listing has a presence indicator, much like the on-line indicator in most instant messengers. What you can do with the gadget is conduct voice calls and related controls. These include calling, answering calls, transferring a call or to put a call on hold. The call can also be forwarded to another line. Voice mail access is available and the access to your call logs. This is a CTI, or the computer telephone interface application. It is an open source solution providing all the elements necessary to create a communication solution. It has an AJAX web based phone control. This solution can provide users all the telephony features they want through a simple browser. This gadget is an effective way to link your phone system to users. The user interface is a very simple icon based intuitive interface. All it takes to operate a feature is just clicking on the icon. Inbound calls have a look up feature that can be used to view details of the calling party. History of earlier calls and logs of earlier discussions etc. are made available on-screen. All the other features, including voicemail access, that compare well with any sophisticated phone system lets user become comfortable quickly as they resemble what they were used to with the older EPABBX systems.
