ZbotKiller Description

The Internet significantly improved the communication by connecting millions of people around the world, but also brought dangers that can affect each computer user. The ever-expanding threats can infiltrate into your system and as such, a reliable antivirus solution is a must nowadays. ZbotKiller is designed for situations when the antivirus program cannot do the trick and a dedicated solution is required for eliminating a certain threat, in this case a malicious trojan from the Trojan-Spy.Win32.Zbot family. This type of trojan can enter your system when dangerous, infected webpages are accessed. Used by cyber-criminals to steal confidential data and banking information, the Zbot is slightly untreaceable by the regular computer user. It bundles its own self-defense mechanism that can hide the processes and the executable files it creates, which makes it practically invisible. However, there still are some ‘fingerprints’ that can reveal its presence. One or more strange files appear in the ‘System32’ or the ‘AppData’ folders and some traces are left in the system registry. If you are not sure that your computer is infected, it doesn’t hurt to run a scan with ZbotKiller, just to be on the safe side of things, especially if you are performing online banking operations on a daily basis. The application runs in the command console and requires no user interaction. Once launched, it performs a quick system scan and tries to detect malicious code of known Trojan-Spy.Win32.Zbot changes. Also, it is designed to delete the rootkit functionality of any hidden process or file associated with the Zbot trojan and clean the system registry entries. As such, the trojan cannot be brought back to life. ZbotKiller can be of great use when you suspect that your computer might be infected by the Zbot trojan. Of course, it can also be used as a prevention method to avoid becoming a victim, but it cannot replace a reliable, permanent security solution.
