It handles the industry standard DWG files as its own native file format. There`s no conversion involved at all. Besides its completely command compatible with the commands used in AutoCAD. Besides the command compatibility AutoCAD menu, script, and fonts used are completely compatible. Thus people familiar with AutoCAD simply gets productive on this application right away. The package lets you design walls, doors, windows with trim, and clean up, stair plans, sections, ceiling plans etc. Also includes door and window schedules, HVAC, furniture, plumbing, parking stalls, and every other conceivable items required for construction drawings. Other advanced features include advanced raster images, raster to vector conversions, 3D ACIS solid modeling support, 10,000 odd symbols & blocks. For customization or extending features the programming is also compatible via AutoLISP support. And ADS, VBA and COM compatibility. Thus it is a low cost alternative to AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT. Cons: All such total compatibility claims need to be taken with a pinch of salt. With such complex software there`s always a possibility of some obscure problems.
