Free DVD to AVI MP4 WMV MPEG 3GP FLV Converter is a DVD ripper. It can be used to copy your DVD movies and convert them into a variety of other formats. The supported output formats are AVI, MP4, WMV, MPEG, 3GP, and FLV and the application can either rip a movie from a DVD disc or use a folder on your computer created by another ripping tool. When this ripper detects a DVD movie or a DVD folder, it will list all the titles that are available for ripping. It will display some information about them, such as length, chapters, audio and subtitle tracks, and deinterlace status. You can check individual titles to include them into your rip or not. Or use one of the two automatic options: "entire disc" and "main movie". After you are done selecting the titles that you want to rip, you can move on the output formats. By clicking on "copy as", a small pop-up window will appear showing all the conversion profiles available. These are divided into three categories: Video, Devices, and Audio (for ripping audio only). In the Video tab, you will see all the formats available, while in the Devices tab, you will find profiles optimized for a few devices, including iPod, AppleTV, iPhone, etc. You can choose which audio and subtitle tracks to include with your ripped files, and the application did an OK job of detecting the available tracks. In my testing, I converted a single title to an H.264 file with no problems. The conversion didn't take too long and the final file was playable just fine. José Fernández Editor rating:
