K9 Description

K9 is an application that is able to filter your emails, so you can get rid of the annoying spams on the go. You can use this tool alongside with other popular email programs, and this way you can check, compose, and send emails without having to sort and delete the junk emails. It boasts a clean and intuitive layout that allows users to perform several actions on the go. Basically, it’s pretty easy to work with this tool, since it is able to automatically display all your emails in the main window. It allows users to filter their emails, by marking them as good or spam. Deleting the emails that are not useful to you is particularly simple. The program features a built-in search engine that can help you find out any messages in your list. The storage area gives you quick access to the emails that were marked as good or spam. The application cannot automatically detect if the emails are spam, so you have to mark them as junk or good emails. More experienced users may fiddle with some advanced configuration settings, as they can change the Internet connection, and make the program log proxy communications, session statistics and debugging data to plain text. Moreover, you can make K9 encrypt emails stored on the disk, automatically delete emails that are older than the selected time, as well as store good and spam emails by specifying the number of messages. It is possible to set sound notifications when a good email has arrived or to add your own audio file, provided that the file format is WAV. The program is able to display statistics about the total number of emails processed, percentage of emails identified as good or spam, and others. All in all, K9 can be described as a stable tool that bundles a decent pack of features for helping you filter your emails. It doesn’t take a lot of time to get used to working with this tool, and it surely appeals to beginners and experts alike. Reviewed by Ana Marculescu, last updated on June 13th, 2013
