Marquee Screensaver is a lightweight desktop enhancement utility that allows users to apply on the screen a customized text message which may contain an important memo, note for other users, lyrics of songs, or your favorite quotes. Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry. You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to apply a screensaver on your desktop on the breeze. Marquee Screensaver offers only a few configuration settings to tinker with, as it gives users the possibility to add the text in a dedicated dialog, customize the text message in terms of font, font style, and size, change the background and font color, as well as adjust the speed. Since it doesn’t require much computer knowledge to work with this tool, even a rookie can make the most out of every single built-in feature. On the downside, it still needs some improvements in some areas, such as the possibility of adding background music and local images from the computer for animating the desktop background. During our testing we have noticed that Marquee Screensaver provides very good image quality, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process. It manages to remain light on the system resources, so it doesn’t burden the overall performance of the computer, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality. To sum things up, Marquee Screensaver is a simple desktop enhancement utility able to animate your screen activity by displaying a customized text message.
