Top Video Converter is an application with a pretty self-explanatory title - it allows you to encode media files to multiple formats, including AVI, FLV, MOV, MP4, WMV and MP3. The interface of the tool is clean and intuitive. Media files can be imported into the list by using the file browser only, because the "drag and drop" method is not supported. Batch conversion is possible. In the queue you can check out the source path, size, duration, output type, remaining time, progress and frames per second for each media file. So, all you have to do is specify the output destination and file type, in order to proceed with the task. But you can also configure audio and video settings when it comes to the codec, bit rate, size, frame rate, aspect ratio, sample frequency rate, volume, and channel mode. On top of that, you can preview videos in a small, built-in media player and capture frames, enable Top Video Converter to automatically overwrite existing files, as well as remove an item from the list or clear the queue. The media conversion software takes up a moderate-to-high amount of system resources, supports multiple skins for the interface, has a good response time and quickly finishes a task while generally preserving a good image and sound quality (however, it doesn't always manage to do so, like in the case of a VOB-to-AVI conversion task during our tests).
