SCADA is a very broad umbrella that describes solutions such as monitoring a remote water pumping facility so you can see the motor amps and pump flow rate on the screen of your Mac.ConsultantX is a powerful industrial SCADA application, but its ease of use makes it suited to monitoring and controlling a home or backyard garden.ConsultantX is a totally new version written to take full advantage for MacOSX. It uses the same time proven code used in Consultant for MacOS9.ConsultantX does not communicate directly with your PLC's or real world sensors. Programs like ABGateway are used to communicate with the PLC's. This makes ConsultantX hardware independant, if you need to talk to a modbus device just use the modbus gateway or if you only have Allen-Bradley PLC's you only need ABGateway. If you have both you just run both gateways.Consultant does not care what hardware you are talking to, it talks to all gateways in the same way.
